Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 2026
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS; we never store your payment card details.
1. Introduction
At SynchCast ("we", "our", or "us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy applies to our desktop application SynchCast and its related website (synchcast.app).
2. Analytics and Tracking (GDPR & CCPA)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how users interact with our website. This helps us improve our marketing and website design. GA4 may collect your IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited.
Under the EU GDPR and California CCPA, you have the right to opt-out of this tracking. We strictly enforce a consent-first policy: Google Analytics will not load unless you explicitly click "Accept" on our Cookie Consent Banner.
3. Data Collection in the App
SynchCast is designed to be a lightweight, local-first application. We do not collect telemetry, audio data, or usage statistics from the SynchCast desktop application. All audio processing happens entirely locally on your machine.
Device Identifier (License Enforcement)
To enforce our one-device-per-license limit and detect trial abuse, the app creates a device fingerprint: a one-way SHA-256 hash of your Windows Machine GUID and system drive's volume serial number. This hash cannot be reversed to identify you or your device, and it deliberately excludes your name, username, hostname, MAC address, and any file contents. This fingerprint is stored on your device and sent to our licence server at synchcast.app only during license activation, validation, and deactivation.
Network Connections
When the app activates or checks your license, or checks for updates, the service it contacts automatically receives your device's IP address as a normal part of the internet connection. Those requests go to our own servers at synchcast.app. We do not use your IP address to track you.
Automatic Update Checks
Periodically the app contacts our servers to check whether a newer version is available. This sends no personal data beyond the connection described above. If you choose to install an update, the installer is downloaded and its integrity verified before running.
4. Payment and Licensing Data
We never see or store your card details. Whichever payment method you use, your card, UPI or bank credentials are collected and handled entirely by the payment provider, not by SynchCast.
All purchases (INR and USD, via Razorpay)
We use Razorpay as our payment gateway for every order, in both currencies, and we are the seller of record. Razorpay collect your payment details on their own hosted checkout; SynchCast never receives them.
For these orders we store, on our own server:
- the email address you entered at checkout, and the email address Razorpay associates with the payment if it differs
- the mobile number you gave Razorpay during payment, where they provide it to us
- the Razorpay order and payment identifiers
- the amount, currency and payment status
- how you paid — the method (UPI, card, net banking or wallet), your UPI ID where applicable, and for cards the network and last four digits only
- the bank reference number for the transaction, which is needed to trace a disputed or missing payment
- your licence key, and the device fingerprint of each computer it is activated on (see “Device Fingerprint” above)
We never receive your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank credentials. Card details are limited to the network and last four digits, which Razorpay provide so a payment can be identified on a statement.
We use this only to issue and validate your licence, to enforce the one-computer activation limit, to trace and resolve payment problems, and to provide support and refunds. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not send marketing messages to your mobile number.
You can review Razorpay's Privacy Policy here.
Location check for the rupee price
The ₹299 price is for purchases made in India, so before you can pay in rupees your browser will ask your permission to share your location. This only happens on the checkout page, and only if you choose the rupee price — you can decline, and you can still buy in US dollars.
If you allow it, your browser sends us approximate coordinates. We use them for exactly one thing: deciding whether you are in India. Specifically:
- we compare the coordinates against India's boundary on our server and keep only the yes/no answer;
- we do not store your coordinates, and they are not written to our database or our logs;
- they are never shared with Razorpay, with any mapping or geocoding service, or with anyone else;
- your browser keeps them for the rest of that browsing session only, so you are not asked twice, and discards them when you close the tab.
We request low-accuracy location deliberately — identifying a country does not need your street.
5. How We Use Your Data
The minimal data described above is used strictly for:
- Verifying your license when you activate the app
- Providing customer support and processing refunds
- Sending critical updates regarding the software
6. Data Retention
We retain the order and licence records described in section 4 on our own server for as long as your lifetime licence is valid, and thereafter for as long as required by Indian tax and accounting law. Activation records are kept so the one-computer limit can be enforced and so a seat can be released and re-used.
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Local license/trial data stored on your device remains until you uninstall and clear it.
7. Your Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California, you have the following rights under the CCPA:
