Start here: a short walkthrough of setting SynchCast up and sending audio to three devices at once.
Using SynchCast on a Mac
macOS 14.2 (Sonoma) or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
- Install it.
Open the downloaded file and drag SynchCast into your Applications folder. The first time you open it, macOS blocks it — go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway. You only do this once.
- Allow System Audio Recording.
When SynchCast asks, allow it. This is how it hears what your Mac is playing — no extra audio driver needed, and the audio never leaves your Mac. If you skipped it, turn SynchCast on in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording.
- Turn your devices on.
Connect your Bluetooth earbuds or headphones in System Settings as usual, or plug in wired ones. They appear in SynchCast’s list — switch on each one you want to hear the sound.
- Press Start Broadcasting.
Everything your Mac plays now comes out of every device you switched on.
- Line them up with Play Sync Test.
Play the test and listen. Bluetooth is always a little behind wired, so if one device sounds late or early, nudge its delay until they all tick together.
- Leave it in the menu bar.
SynchCast keeps running from its icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen, so you can close the window and carry on watching. Click the icon to start, stop or open it again.
Updates arrive automatically. To check now, choose SynchCast → Check for Updates… in the menu bar.
More tutorials are on the way. In the meantime the written guide covers setup step by step, plus troubleshooting.
