What it is and what it runs on
What is SynchCast?
SynchCast is a desktop app for Windows 10/11 and macOS 14.2 or later that plays your computer's audio on several Bluetooth and wired headphones and speakers at the same time, kept in sync. It's built for things like two people watching a film on one laptop with their own earbuds, a hostel movie night, or laptop speakers plus a Bluetooth speaker in another room. It does one job: it doesn't mix microphones or route individual apps.
Does SynchCast work on Windows, Mac and Linux?
Windows 10 and Windows 11, and Macs with macOS 14.2 (Sonoma) or later on both Apple Silicon and Intel. The Mac version is in beta. There is no Linux version. An Android version is in development; you can register for its beta on the homepage.
Why does the Mac version need macOS 14.2?
macOS 14.2 added system-audio capture, which is how SynchCast hears what your Mac is playing without an extra audio driver such as BlackHole. Older macOS versions don't have it.
What can I play through it?
Anything your computer plays: films, YouTube, music, games and other apps. SynchCast copies the computer's audio output, so there's nothing to set up per app.
Devices and sync
How many devices can I play to at once?
Up to about 5. There's no limit built into the app, but Bluetooth radios and USB audio start to struggle past roughly five, so that's the honest number for playback without glitches. Most people use 2 or 3. SynchCast tells you roughly how many your computer's Bluetooth can drive cleanly.
Can I mix Bluetooth and wired devices?
Yes. Laptop speakers, wired headphones, USB headsets and Bluetooth earbuds can all play together, each with its own volume and delay. That mix is the case SynchCast is built for.
Will two pairs of AirPods or Bluetooth earbuds work?
Yes, if your computer can connect to both. Pair each one as you normally would, then switch both on in SynchCast. How many Bluetooth devices one computer can drive at once depends on its Bluetooth adapter.
Why does a Bluetooth device sound slightly behind?
Bluetooth has to encode, send and decode audio, which typically costs 100 to 300 milliseconds; wired output is nearly instant. Use that device's delay setting (on a Mac, the Play Sync Test helps) to line them up. You set it once per device.
Will the devices drift out of sync during a long film?
No. Every audio device runs on its own clock, and no two run at exactly the same speed, so most setups slowly develop an echo. SynchCast measures the drift continuously and corrects it, so devices are still aligned after a 3-hour film.
Do I need drivers or admin rights?
No. On Windows SynchCast uses WASAPI loopback, which is built into Windows, so nothing is installed into your audio system and no admin password is needed. On a Mac it uses macOS's own system-audio capture; macOS asks once for permission to record system audio.
Buying, trial and licence
Is there a free trial?
Yes: 30 days with every feature unlocked, and no card needed. On Windows the trial is in the Microsoft Store build.
How much does SynchCast cost?
$10.99 one-time worldwide, or ₹299 one-time for buyers in India. It's a lifetime licence with free updates and no subscription.
Why is it ₹299 in India?
The rupee price is a regional price for buyers in India, paid by UPI, card or net banking. The checkout confirms you're in India with a location check. It's the same software and the same lifetime licence.
How can I pay?
In India, by UPI, card or net banking through Razorpay. Everywhere else, by card through Razorpay, or through Lemon Squeezy, which also offers PayPal and Apple Pay. For Lemon Squeezy orders, Lemon Squeezy is the seller and issues the licence key. Either way the key is emailed to you and shown on screen straight after payment.
Can I use my licence on more than one computer?
One computer at a time. To move it, open SynchCast on the old computer and choose "Release this seat", then enter your key on the new one.
What is the refund policy?
14-day money-back guarantee. If SynchCast doesn't work for you, email support@synchcast.app within 14 days of purchase with your licence key and the email address you bought with, and the refund is started within 3 to 5 working days.
Installing, updates and privacy
Where do I download SynchCast for Windows?
From the Microsoft Store. It's the only Windows download: the Store version is signed by Microsoft, installs without security warnings and updates itself. The site no longer offers a separate .exe installer.
Where do I download it for Mac?
From synchcast.app (Download, then Mac). Drag it into Applications. The first time you open it, macOS blocks it: open System Settings, Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway. You only do this once. The Mac setup guide has every step.
How does SynchCast update?
The Windows version updates through the Microsoft Store. The Mac version updates itself; to check now, choose SynchCast, then Check for Updates in the menu bar.
Does my audio leave my computer?
No. SynchCast plays your audio straight to your own devices; the audio is never uploaded anywhere. The app goes online to activate and occasionally re-check your licence, to look for updates, and to send a bug report if you choose to send one.
Does SynchCast work offline?
Yes, once activated. It needs the internet to activate a licence and checks it again from time to time, but if it can't reach the server it keeps working rather than locking you out.
Who makes SynchCast?
Sagar Singh Kushwaha, an independent developer in Madhya Pradesh, India, working as Sanganix AI. Support emails go to the person who wrote the code. Company details are on the Legal Notice page.
