SynchCast changelog
Last updated
Every SynchCast release for Windows and Mac, newest first. The Windows version updates through the Microsoft Store; the Mac version updates itself.
Current versions: Windows 2.5.0 and Mac 1.0.3 (beta).
SynchCast for Mac
Mac 1.0.3
Delivered automatically to 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 through the in-app updater.
Mac 1.0.2
Delivered automatically to 1.0.1 through the in-app updater.
Mac 1.0.1
First public beta for macOS 14.2 or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel. Uses macOS's system-audio capture, so no audio driver is needed.
SynchCast for Windows
Windows 2.5.0
- A fresh new look: light and dark mode that follows Windows, a new sidebar and device cards, and first-run onboarding.
- New Sync page: choose how devices are kept together.
- Control SynchCast from the tray icon by the clock, and start or stop broadcasting from the taskbar.
- Step-by-step help for turning off Windows audio effects, and plainer warnings.
- Stability: audio muted for sync is always restored, even after a crash; fewer false freeze warnings after the PC sleeps; safer shutdown during a sync test or update.
- Security: update downloads are size-checked and re-verified before they run.
Windows 2.4.4
- Stability improvements.
Windows 2.4.3
- Report a bug from inside the app (Feedback & Report Bug).
- The app tells you when an update exists and remembers it between launches; it checks once a week.
- Says which device SynchCast records from, and warns when your default device's audio effects are part of the broadcast.
- Dropout warnings no longer outlive the broadcast they describe.
- Licence handling updates for both payment providers.
Windows 2.4.2
- Bluetooth stability profile: about 1.8 times the buffer headroom, with sync preserved.
- Bluetooth guidance with realistic device counts and practical help; detects every Bluetooth transport.
- Follows a change of default output in the middle of a broadcast instead of stopping.
- A licence that could not be checked recovers on its own once the server is reachable.
- Safer update downloads.
Windows 2.4.1
- The Buy button opens synchcast.app/checkout, so prices and payment options can change without an app update.
Windows 2.4.0
- Accepts licence keys bought on synchcast.app (Razorpay) as well as Lemon Squeezy keys.
Windows 2.3.0
- Detects changes of default device, and removes a one-second Bluetooth stall.
- Replaces latency calibration with a clear Bluetooth delay hint.
- New dark theme; only one copy of the app can run at a time.
Earlier versions (2.1 and 2.2) are not listed here.
